The City of Point Arena has a Main Street Historic District with restaurants, delis, bars, and cafes. You can also find a retro movie theater, art galleries cooperative grocery, local library, community garden and city park. The city sees a fair number of hikers and bikers there to enjoy the parts of the California Coastal National Monument. Notable stops include Bowling Ball Beach and the Point Arena Lighthouse. Visitors also come for whale watching – but can even catch safari creatures at a private preserve.
